EXPERIENCED CONSERVATIVE CANDIDATE!!!
I am Derbha H. Jones, a conservative candidate, for Judge of the 16th District Court. I am married to Reginald D. Jones, and we have two daughters; Ashley, and Taylor N. Jones. My husband and I also serve as foster parents for abused and/or neglected children. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Radiologic Technology from Northeast Louisiana University and received my Law Degree from Texas Wesleyan School of Law in the year of 2001. For over nine years, I have consistently represented clients in Denton County cases. I am trained as a mediator in Basic and Family Law Mediation; and licensed as a National Certified Guardian, qualified to make decisions for persons who lack the capacity to make rational decisions for themselves. Additionally, I am routinely appointed by the Denton District Judges as attorney ad litem to represent parents or children in CPS cases.
I am the candidate with the most consistent and recent trial
experience, having represented clients in approximately 400 cases in Denton
County, with an estimated 200 of those cases being before the Denton District
Courts, which includes agreed, or contested matters, jury and non‐jury trials.
Although I have represented clients in surrounding counties for various matters, I
have chosen to provide legal service primarily to the citizens of Denton County. I
am knowledgeable of the local rules of the Denton District Courts and also
knowledgeable of the major changes that have occurred in Family Law during
each legislative session. The 16th District Court is a court of general jurisdiction
and I am the candidate with the most consistent, ongoing trial experience and
working knowledge of the law. It would be an honor to represent the citizens of
Denton County as Judge of the 16th Judicial District Court providing equal justice
for all.
I, Derbha H. Jones, have the experience and qualifications to be Judge of the 16th Judicial District Court.
Derbha H. Jones
